Hello Brooklyn!

This is a wonderful typography based music video made by Greg Solenström, a previous Hyper Island student. The clip is just fantastic, and if you like it, make sure you watch the "making of" as well!
Enjoy!

New York New York

I am very happy, honoured and excited to say that I will be interning as a producer at Your Majesty in New York in November.
It feels great and I really look forward to this wonderful journey I'm about to start.

Your Majesty is a creative agency driven and founded by a former Hyper Island student, Jens Karlsson. I am very happy to have been given this chance and I will most definetly give and contribute with everything I have and hope that they will be pleased with what I can bring to the round table.

From November on, I will become a knight.

Blacksmiths

The first two days at hyper has passed and they have been absolutely great.
Yesterday we started off with some regular class team building and information about our nine week project called The Final Project. Right before lunch we teamed up with the people we wanted to work with and got our clients.
I work with 5 absolutely fantastic talents from the class. Theo Stråhlén and Henrik Porseland, the two developers. Alexander Gårdenberg and John Karlsson our fantastic designers. Ida Ragnarsson as our Concept and Strategy girl and then me, as the producer.
We are all really good friends and have a very well balanced skill knowledge within the different fields of Digital Media. I really look forward to working with Blacksmith for the coming 9 weeks. And who knows? Maybe even in a couple of years in the future as our own super agency?

Love.

My Collection from Hyper so far

I usually post about print/outdoor/ambient or digital campaigns that I'm impressed or intrigued by, but now I thought I'd post what I have accomplished doing during my first year at Hyper Island.
Here is a collection of my favorite stuff in chronological order with the most recent work at the top.

TIP - The Industry Project

Project Time: 6 Weeks
My Role: CEO
Clients: IKEA, Unga Klara, Akka Box

The TIP is the final module of the Digital Media program before diving into the Final Project and the internship. The class is basically divided into groups of 12 and the main task is to start up and run an agency. Even though everything is fairly fake, it gives you so many insights about how it would be to run an agency, to write budgets, to count working hours and to write proposals etc.

I was the CEO of the agency and learned a lot about setting up a full on structure and workflow for the agency. I also learned a whole lot about being a overview and supervisor of three separate working groups as well as the entire agency as a whole. I was responsible for setting a good atmosphere, making sure we worked according to our values and to do quality assurance on everything we did.

48 hour Zlatan Pitch

Task: Create a brand and marketing strategy for famous football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Project Time: 48 Hours

My Role: Creative team together with Ola Syse, classmate and designer.
Challenge: To deliver in short amount of time!

This side project was given to us during the The Industry Project as a chance of winning money to your agency. It was intense but lots of fun. We didn't work to structured, but surprisingly this worked very well for both of us. We worked simultaneously with different tasks and came up with improvements along the way. We both set the concept together and I was then mainly responsible for the pitch and Ola for the design and mock ups.

Website + Hosting of a football management game which is connected to Facebook

Mobile App - What would Zlatan do? A generator with different fun things Zlatan would do

Hair products aimed towards the younger segment of the target group

The XV - Our Marketing

The task: To market and promote the class and the individuals of the class
Project Time: 3 Months
My Role: Senior Project Manager
Challenge: How to get 36 very stubborn people work in syner
gy

The XV Projects is one of the biggest projects I've been involved in and it gave me a whole lot of experience and learnings.
Me and two other Senior Project Managers from the class were responsible for the entire structure and work process and spent around 4 weeks planning schedules, timelines, swots, workflows and deadlines. We also facilitated the Idea Development process and motivational sessions and process follow ups.

The Result? Visit our fantastic website: www.whatisxv.com

The Triforce Installation

The task: Create an interactive, fun and technical device/installation for a future exhibition
Project Time: 5 Weeks
Material: 1 Wii Remote + 500 SEK
My Role: Project Manager - Triforce Group & Stockholm EAT Exhibitio
n

As a group we were faced with so many challenges in this project because none of us had any type of experience in technology or exhibitions. All we knew was that we had an idea, and we wanted to do anything to make that idea become reality.

We researched, we called people, we looked for sponsors, we tried and failed and tried again. However, we finally pulled it off and we created one of the winning installations at the exhibition and won the price of going to London and exhibit at W+K.

The Result: The Triforce - an audiovisual experience installation that creates ambient music and visuals with the help of a Light Glove.

For more information about the installation, please drop me a comment and I'll get back to you!

The City Simulator

Client: The Municipality of Karlskrona
Brief: Attract new inhabitants to move to Karlskrona
Project Time: 4 Weeks
My Role: Concept & Copy

This was our first real brief! We were all very excited and worked late nights to finish this project. We created an idea for a City Simulator tool that would help new inhabitants to get their own personalized Karlskrona by answering a few questions and downloading the City Customization app.

Light a candle for your best memory

Today was our final day @ Hyper Island before the summer break.
We started the day with a full on evaluation of the whole year we have been studying for. We made a nice little timeline with the start in Aug 2009 and and the ending in June 2010 and then we filled the timeline with drawings and text of specific things that had happened during the year. Once we had done that we got to light a candle and put it somewhere on the timeline that would symbolize a moment that we want to remember during the summer.

It was a great session with some emotions involved. After the evaluation we made 7 cakes for us and DM10 to enjoy as a final goodbye before summer. Thank you all for this first year, it has been amazing!
See you again in August for our final project and the very exciting internship!

Internship

We only have 4 more weeks of school here at Hyper before we leave for the summer break and after the summer break, we have our final project and then we are off to our 7 month long internships.
Im already feeling like starting to apply for my internship.
I know I want to go back to the states. Either California and San Francisco, or the capital of the world, New York City. Just writing the names of these cities makes me excited.

There are a few agencies that I have looked at and probably will contact, but I know that in the end I will fall in love with only one or two, and then I have to work really hard to get there. I don't want to be the spammer that just shoots out e-mails to everything, I really want to work somewhere where I can contribute and learn all at once. A place whose work I admire, and a place where I can develop.

It's time for me to fall in love people. Watch out you NY and SF agencies, you might get struck!

Gestos Wine!!

The Help Us Grow Campaign that our class started a couple of months ago got a company here in Sweden called Arvid Nordquist inspired somehow because they returned the favor by giving us a challenge.
The challenge was to, in 23 days, create 30 sec Advertising spot for the web, a Banner, a Microsite and a Video Blogg, for an Argentinian wine named Gestos. The winning contribution would win 50 000 SWE Kronor.

Our class got into 4 different teams and worked on this wine project on the side from our ordinary school work and yesterday we were told that they had announced a winner. MY TEAM!
Im so very proud of what we made in such a short time and Im very happy we won so that our class can go to Amsterdam for our release party!

Unfortunately the site is all in Swedish and so are the commercials. But check it out if you're interested!
Press release (Also in Swedish. Simple translation: They think our class is sick and that we blew their minds with our proffesionality)

St Patricks Day

Happy St Patties Day Everyone! I hop you are all green today so you won't get pinched by anyone!
Today has been a pretty good day. Or the week has actually been pretty good so far. Monday started up really nice with the come back of DM 10, the class before us. They are back from their internships and are here to start their final projects. It's great because we really get the chance to ask them everything about internships, the industry, get tips and tricks and just network!
Good stuff!

This week we also started a new project called the Project Life Cycle. We work with a real life brief given to us by Svensk Fastighetsförmedling, a Swedish real estate agency. I'm really excited about the project and I think it can come out really good.

Good thing number 3 and 4 is; I had a fantastic talk with one of my best friends last night. Thank you E.
Today we are having a big homecoming party for DM10 with the theme: CEO's and SECRETARY HOE'S.

Im gonna add a number 5 to this too. It's 6 Celcius Degrees here today. Almost summer to me.

Have fun today and go get that green beer tonight!

Secret

Tomorrow I'm going to have a very important and exciting photo shoot session. Unfortunately I can't tell you anything about it yet. You will all get to see the pics when it's time.
Meanwhile I thought I'd post some of the pictures from the photo shoot I had with my very talented classmate Tobias Bergström.
I'm probably going to use one of the pictures he took to redo my banner on here.

"Help Us Grow"

Joy shouts!
Im very proud to present the Help us Grow Campaign!
It is a campaign to help our class raise sponsor money for our class promotion.

Three very smart girls, Malin Altenby, Ida Ragnarsson and Michell Demåne didn't want to send out traditional sponsor letters to companies. Instead, they came up with a creative and much more interesting idea.

They sew together really small black t-shirts and filled them with cotton. They filled them up with a little bit too much cotton so it seems as they t-shirt is cracking. On the t-shirt it says: Help us grow!
They also created tags to the t-shirts with information about the class.

Its really brilliant! The send-outs went out yesterday.
Today Resumé called and said they wanted to do an article on this! I think its going to get big!
Our class is really ballin' right now!!

Hyper Update

About two weeks ago I started planning our classes Portfolio Week. It was very much up to us how we would do it, but it was said that Monday on the first of March we were to present our portfolios to the class, and on Wednesday the 3rd of March, we were to present to the industry.

Me and some other smart cookies from the class sat down and planned it all out. I was mainly responsible for the whole thing. Last week I sent out a schedule for todays feedback session. Since we are 36 happy campers in the class, I divided us into three groups of 12 that could present simontainously and made sure there was a moderator in each room that could manage the time and feedback rounds. I prepared a time schedule so that everyone could get 10 min each presenting and receiving feedback.

Today went really well. It was really useful to all of us. I've gotten some good feedback on my portfolio, and I hope that the feedback I gave was helpful.

I think I'll be finished with my portfolio in a week or so? Maybe? Kinda? Either way, this blog will be the first place I will post it on.

On Wednesday we have some cool gals coming in from some local businesses here in KNA to give us more feedback.
(Which reminds me I have to bake chocolate muffins for this session. Goddammit. Why do I keep signing up for these things?)

Back at Hyper!

We are back at Hyper Island today after our 4 week long Christmas Break. Or it wasn't really a break since we had a module during this time where we were to create an analyze and concept for our future Portfolio.

Today we are having some sort of preparation and organization of the whole class for our next module. The marketing and promotion of our class. The module is three week long, and we are to come up with a great idea that will promote our class Digital Media 2011 Karlskrona.

This will be very important since it involves our branding and our personal promotion.
This will be fun, interesting, very frustrating, and big.

Ill keep you updated.

Buh Bye.
