Dear Blog

Our relationship has lasted somewhat more than 6 months, and I have shared great times with you. You have always allowed me to express anything I've wanted and stayed very open with me and especially in regards to the random times I choose to communicate with you. I know I sometimes don't even write and days pass by, but it has been because I have only wanted to talk to you only when I have had something interesting to say.

Needless to say, every relationship comes to an end. I have found someone else. Someone who not only allows me to write whatever I want, whenever I want, but also someone who allows me to be as big or as small as I want to be. Someone who will put up my pictures in the size I want. Someone who allows me to choose anything I want. Someone who allows my complete customization. I have met Wordpress.

I'm sorry. I will still keep in touch with you father who helps me find ANYTHING I need, instantly now a days. And also your sweet mother who has the best video clip library I know of.

If you want to keep in touch with me, please do that through www.ninaamjadi.com

Wish you all the best,

Nina

(My new blog will be released sometime next week) Stay

tuned on twitter for the release!

Polar Bears!

It's not a big deal, I just like the use of simplicity. In all areas of use. Simplicity just gets to me. Take a look at this Toronto Zoo spot. It is just plain simple.

Dislike Post

I rarely post stuff on here that I'm NOT very impressed by but this Mariah Carey site just makes me a little annoyed.

ClickFire Media has partnered with Elizabeth Arden to launch an interactive website featuring augmented reality (AR) for the introduction of Mariah Carey's Lollipop Bling candy-inspired fragrance collection. The heart of the website, which includes Away3D Flash components, is a rotating 3D bank of stylized, candy-themed skyscrapers which were inspired by the singer's New York City hometown skyline, and evocative of a set design for one of Mariah's iconic videos.

However. It is tacky. I'm sorry but, using 3D is nice, and the rotation of the buildings are nice. But it just leaves me with nothing?
It just makes me sad because this is Digital Media being used really badly.
Technically, cool.
Interface, sucks.
Mariah Carey style, sucks.

What do you guys think?

Hello Brooklyn!

This is a wonderful typography based music video made by Greg Solenström, a previous Hyper Island student. The clip is just fantastic, and if you like it, make sure you watch the "making of" as well!
Enjoy!

You ever wonder where the planes are going?

If you have nothing else better to do with your time, why not go plane hunting with the Plane Finder AR app which allows you to use augmented reality (AR) to search the skies for planes and get details such as flight number, speed, destination and other strange details of overhead planes. If you take a gander at the picture above, you'll see the AR information displayed in a fancy manner when aimed at planes. This app works by picking up the ADS-B data from the planes, meaning that not every plane that you point your iPhone at will have its information displayed.

New York New York

I am very happy, honoured and excited to say that I will be interning as a producer at Your Majesty in New York in November.
It feels great and I really look forward to this wonderful journey I'm about to start.

Your Majesty is a creative agency driven and founded by a former Hyper Island student, Jens Karlsson. I am very happy to have been given this chance and I will most definetly give and contribute with everything I have and hope that they will be pleased with what I can bring to the round table.

From November on, I will become a knight.

Viral Viral Viral!

The Viral Factory created this flashmob/viral/i-don't-know-what it's-called campaign for Samsung Galaxy and it just leaves you thinking: How did they do this? It's funny, and definitely something that will spread. Viral!
(However, I must admit that those last seconds where the pay-off comes, the design could really look better)

Package Design

I rarely post things on packaging design. But this is surely when it's at it it's best!

Date?

Theo Stråhlén just sent me a date request by creating a website. Too cute. Making someone else feel something only through the digital world makes everything so worth it. Not only this wonderful date page, but anything in marketing and advertising. We have to make people feel. Once they feel, they will be receptive.

Go ahead and try my date-site out! It's papervision so it's more than just a plain page. It actually moves!

Call Phones from Gmail!

Gmail voice and video chat makes it easy to stay in touch with friends and family using your computer’s microphone and speakers. But until now, this required both people to be at their computers, signed into Gmail at the same time. Given that most of us don’t spend all day in front of our computers, we thought, “wouldn’t it be nice if you could call people directly on their phones?”

Starting today, you can call any phone right from Gmail.

Target Light Show

The Target Fall 2010 Fashion Light Show Show at The Standard Hotel New York is such a cool idea! Mother N.Y and Target managed to create an extravaganza with just as much wow factor, using The Standard Hotel in NYC as the event stage, they synced over 150 rooms with large LED lights and live dancers in windows along with ground level catwalks and a host of celebs to mark the launch. Would have been really cool to see.

Mjurn!

Today was Blacksmiths first day without Hyper Island co-workers and such. From here and now on, it is all up to us.
We have had a great day. We started off by building a foundation of our agency. We talked about everyones roles, what the responsibilities are, and decided on how our working process will look like. It is so refreshing I can't even explain it. I feel great. It is almost like hope mixed with happiness, comfort and a touch of luck in there.

We decided on which client to contact and what to do the coming days. I also created all Blacksmith branded timecards and such for our agency. They look great!

By the way. I should really recommend the iPhone app Mill Color when taking photos on your iphone and then also use the myFilm app to add that extra touch. These images are taken with an iPhone and edited really quickly in those apps.

Blacksmiths

The first two days at hyper has passed and they have been absolutely great.
Yesterday we started off with some regular class team building and information about our nine week project called The Final Project. Right before lunch we teamed up with the people we wanted to work with and got our clients.
I work with 5 absolutely fantastic talents from the class. Theo Stråhlén and Henrik Porseland, the two developers. Alexander Gårdenberg and John Karlsson our fantastic designers. Ida Ragnarsson as our Concept and Strategy girl and then me, as the producer.
We are all really good friends and have a very well balanced skill knowledge within the different fields of Digital Media. I really look forward to working with Blacksmith for the coming 9 weeks. And who knows? Maybe even in a couple of years in the future as our own super agency?

Love.

Vibram FiveFingers

So Vibram FiveFingers is promoting their new shoe with this microsite. The shoe looks kinda funny, it looks like those socks you can buy where each toe has its own little pocket to go into. I'm sure the technology behind the shoe is fantastic and the message on this Microste that Nail has created says: You are the technology. I like that a lot, but what do you think about the microsite? To me it's really cool at the beginning, but then it kinda dies? I mean, I spent at least 5 min on the site, and that's probably what they wanted to accomplish, but I wasn't satisfied as I left the site. I dont know, I'm having a hard time giving this some type of grade. All I can say is that is worth having a look at.

Summer Slacking

Dear Blog,
I have had and am having, a very interesting summer. A summer like no other actually. I'm spending my time doing, nothing. But It's really strange how putting your self into boredom can actually benefit you in the end.

My first two weeks of the summer I spent at Saatchi & Saatchi Stockholm. It was great! I was given the chance to learn more about what planning is all about and how the work process looks at an agency like theirs. I also brought with me an interesting quote from the agency owner Hans Sydow, "Advertising is a contact sport, so throw yourself in there"

Anywho, after my two weeks. I entered my six weeks of nothingness, and may I tell you. Oh my god it has been tough. I have been angry, annoyed, irritated and I have even changed my hairstyle too many times per day, just because I've had nothing to do. But then finally I got the chance to go to the south of Sweden to visit my boyfriend and his family! It was my first time there so we explored, went on a bicycle excursion and took the train to Copenhagen for a day. It was the best and most exciting week of my summer.

Now I'm back to boredom. But it is okay.
It's been insane and hectic, but I'm finally getting in peace with it.

I have 2 1/2 weeks until school starts again and I will spend my time in this nothingness by just taking everyday as it comes.

Nonetheless! I'm picking up blogging again! So watch out world wide web. I'm back.

Best Buy + Universal = Movie App

Hollywood is changing people.
We’ve seen technology being integrated into big motion pictures, but now it has been taken to an App level.

In partnership with Universal, Best Buy has recently unveiled a movie app that encourages using your cell phone while watching Despicable Me! The app only takes effect during the film’s end credits, where it will provide a text translation of Despicable Me’s minion characters’ dialogue.

Even though there are a billion people out there who thinks that using the cell phone during a movie in a theater would be absurd, I think it is a cool idea. It is only used in the end credits and provides a much nicer experience.
Watch the commercial here!

@KingJames

I read about a prediction on Jeff Hilimires blog that LeBron will announce his decision on which team he will play for on twitter, and I must say, that is a very good prediction. The King has realized that he can use this announcement to create a new media channel and he’s on it.

The New York Knicks tried getting him to play there through a social media campaign but failed. Maybe you've stumbled upon it? The name of the campaign was "C'mon LeBron". However, he has now taken it in his own hands and I think its pretty cool!

Want to follow him? @KingJames

We Reward - Easiest way to earn a penny?

This is probably one of the first times I even express myself about an iPhone App, but I must say, I haven't tried this ReWard App, but it seems pretty cool. Basically, you can get points for “checking in” at places or, and this is the part I like the most, for doing certain things. And you get paid via PayPal.

Here's what they say on their site:

Earn WeReward points by completing tasks and checkins at your favorite businesses with your iPhone. Each point is worth a penny, earn 1,000 points and cashout to PayPal.

The business model is very interesting and Im impressed that someone or some people out there found a way of making money off of the "check in trend". Companies want exposure through peoples check ins, and are therefor prepared to pay small amounts of money to people who do. Im not going to give away too much and let you watch the video. But it seems cool, I'm impressed and if I did have an iPhone, I would download this app.
Anyone up for a donation of an iPhone to me? No?

Most Creative Website(?) Ever!

Last year BooneOakley really pushed the envelope and wanted to create a creative website. So they created Yotube videos. But they weren’t just videos, it was actually their Agency site embedded into YouTube across 50 odd videos, the very first of its kind. This was 12 months ago, 1 million views ago and is now possibly the most viewed agency site of all time!?
To cap it off, last week they won a Gold Lion at Cannes in 2010. Yay for creativity and oddness!

The Social Network!

So it is official! Sony Pictures are making a movie called The Social Network. The movie is all about what happened when Facebook exploded around the world, how Mark Zuckerberg did it and where we are today because of it. Here is a "teaser" from the movie. Rather boring I would say, but hey. It can only get better right?

My Collection from Hyper so far

I usually post about print/outdoor/ambient or digital campaigns that I'm impressed or intrigued by, but now I thought I'd post what I have accomplished doing during my first year at Hyper Island.
Here is a collection of my favorite stuff in chronological order with the most recent work at the top.

TIP - The Industry Project

Project Time: 6 Weeks
My Role: CEO
Clients: IKEA, Unga Klara, Akka Box

The TIP is the final module of the Digital Media program before diving into the Final Project and the internship. The class is basically divided into groups of 12 and the main task is to start up and run an agency. Even though everything is fairly fake, it gives you so many insights about how it would be to run an agency, to write budgets, to count working hours and to write proposals etc.

I was the CEO of the agency and learned a lot about setting up a full on structure and workflow for the agency. I also learned a whole lot about being a overview and supervisor of three separate working groups as well as the entire agency as a whole. I was responsible for setting a good atmosphere, making sure we worked according to our values and to do quality assurance on everything we did.

48 hour Zlatan Pitch

Task: Create a brand and marketing strategy for famous football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Project Time: 48 Hours

My Role: Creative team together with Ola Syse, classmate and designer.
Challenge: To deliver in short amount of time!

This side project was given to us during the The Industry Project as a chance of winning money to your agency. It was intense but lots of fun. We didn't work to structured, but surprisingly this worked very well for both of us. We worked simultaneously with different tasks and came up with improvements along the way. We both set the concept together and I was then mainly responsible for the pitch and Ola for the design and mock ups.

Website + Hosting of a football management game which is connected to Facebook

Mobile App - What would Zlatan do? A generator with different fun things Zlatan would do

Hair products aimed towards the younger segment of the target group

The XV - Our Marketing

The task: To market and promote the class and the individuals of the class
Project Time: 3 Months
My Role: Senior Project Manager
Challenge: How to get 36 very stubborn people work in syner
gy

The XV Projects is one of the biggest projects I've been involved in and it gave me a whole lot of experience and learnings.
Me and two other Senior Project Managers from the class were responsible for the entire structure and work process and spent around 4 weeks planning schedules, timelines, swots, workflows and deadlines. We also facilitated the Idea Development process and motivational sessions and process follow ups.

The Result? Visit our fantastic website: www.whatisxv.com

The Triforce Installation

The task: Create an interactive, fun and technical device/installation for a future exhibition
Project Time: 5 Weeks
Material: 1 Wii Remote + 500 SEK
My Role: Project Manager - Triforce Group & Stockholm EAT Exhibitio
n

As a group we were faced with so many challenges in this project because none of us had any type of experience in technology or exhibitions. All we knew was that we had an idea, and we wanted to do anything to make that idea become reality.

We researched, we called people, we looked for sponsors, we tried and failed and tried again. However, we finally pulled it off and we created one of the winning installations at the exhibition and won the price of going to London and exhibit at W+K.

The Result: The Triforce - an audiovisual experience installation that creates ambient music and visuals with the help of a Light Glove.

For more information about the installation, please drop me a comment and I'll get back to you!

The City Simulator

Client: The Municipality of Karlskrona
Brief: Attract new inhabitants to move to Karlskrona
Project Time: 4 Weeks
My Role: Concept & Copy

This was our first real brief! We were all very excited and worked late nights to finish this project. We created an idea for a City Simulator tool that would help new inhabitants to get their own personalized Karlskrona by answering a few questions and downloading the City Customization app.

Light a candle for your best memory

Today was our final day @ Hyper Island before the summer break.
We started the day with a full on evaluation of the whole year we have been studying for. We made a nice little timeline with the start in Aug 2009 and and the ending in June 2010 and then we filled the timeline with drawings and text of specific things that had happened during the year. Once we had done that we got to light a candle and put it somewhere on the timeline that would symbolize a moment that we want to remember during the summer.

It was a great session with some emotions involved. After the evaluation we made 7 cakes for us and DM10 to enjoy as a final goodbye before summer. Thank you all for this first year, it has been amazing!
See you again in August for our final project and the very exciting internship!
